Summary
William Blake explores the destructive nature of suppressed anger. While speaking one's wrath to a friend dissipates it, nurturing hidden hatred towards a foe causes it to grow into a poisonous tree. The foe eats the shiny apple from the tree and falls dead, illustrating the fatal consequences of harbored malice.
